The New E3 School Case Statement

The Solution

The New E3 School is a state-of-the-art, mixed-income model school for children ages one to five located in Norfolk, Virginia. E3: Elevate Early Education set out over seven years ago to create a high-quality, prototype model to prove that when all children have access to quality, they enter kindergarten with the academic and “soft skills” they need to thrive. The school is a catalyst for policy change and a “show & tell” model that has lead to increased state investment. Our awareness, advocacy and policy work have led to historic investment to increase access, improve quality and support families, teachers and programs in Virginia.

The STREAMin3 model was piloted in private, faith-based, the Virginia Preschool Initiative and Head Start programs across the state and proven to be replicable and scalable. It is on the VDOE List of Approved Curriculum for Infant, Toddlers and Preschoolers, widely available to impact more children.

Our Results

High quality is consistent and strong across all classrooms.

Teachers are engaged in strong interactions with children.
The majority of our children met or exceeded the benchmarks in literacy, math and self-regulation.
For the first time in our school’s history, we are seeing more children across the income spectrum need additional help in literacy due to two years of pandemic.

163 children are on our waiting list for scholarships. Your gift to The New E3 School Scholarship Fund will provide a young child from a low-income family with the early education they need and deserve.

$50k = A scholarship for a child from a low-income family to attend our school for five years.
$30k = A scholarship for three years to a family in need.
$10k = A scholarship for one year.
$5k = A partial scholarship for a family.
$1k = Financial aid for a family.
